Lets review both pathways and what we feel is the best options this all depends on what is suitable and beneficial that will lead to success. Looking at vocational opportunities towards learning both practical and knowledge whist academic focuses on literature. There has always been the debate whether both pathways will meet the same opportunities and success especially for school leavers.
Vocational opportunities will lead to apprenticeships, work placements and qualifications. However academic wise they have also introduced apprenticeship opportunities alongside pursuing a degree. The downside when pursuing academia is the tuition free and risk of debt due to loans and credit issues. Both sides present the same opportunities but different directions there are no right or wrong..
Looking at stats school leavers tend to pursue apprenticeships as they feel that they will have a better chance of securing employment as well as gaining qualifications, whilst those tend to purse academic route due to traditional reasons and they feel that they would have recognition if they were pursue higher qualifications.
Both sides will have the advantage of thinking about careers that you want to pursue in the future it is important to network and speak with employers and review options available. Review the current job market and see the skills that are needed that will make you marketable
